It’s not just boxing fans who are impressed by Mike Tyson ‘s physical form at age 54. Roy Jones Jr, an opponent of the former heavyweight champion on September 12, was amazed at his rival’s preparation for the confrontation. In a promotional video posted on social media, he compares the duel between David and Goliath.

The allusion to David and Goliath is frequent when talking about clashes in which one side appears to have a clear superiority, primarily physical. According to biblical history, Goliath was a Philistine giant that no one dared to face. Davi, even small and without armor, took down his rival using a sniper (slingshot) to hit him with a stone.
– His legs are enormous; his thighs are massive, his arms are big, his neck is big. It’s very risky, yes? (…) David and Goliath. We know. I am little David, who only has God by his side. But it’s just what I need – said Roy Jones Jr, about the fight against Tyson.
The promotional video has some scenes from Tyson’s training, showing this fabulous physique. It also briefly displays the cartels of the two fighters. Tyson has 50 career wins, 44 of which by knockout. “Captain Hook” has 66 wins, with 47 knockouts.
Training for the lap
“Anything is possible when you’re smart. Train smarter. Recover smarter.” With motivational phrases in the captions, Mike Tyson started posting training videos about two months ago. Initially guided by Brazilian coach Rafael Cordeiro, the former heavyweight champion appeared training the technical part of boxing and physical conditioning.
On May 20, a video was released where Tyson appears training shirtless in his mansion in Las Vegas. At 54, the veteran was impressed by being strong and with a percentage of fat similar to what he had at the height of his career.
